Η συνταγή και η μάλλον θεραπευτική μούσα του Brookins ολοκληρώνονται σχεδόν ιδανικά στα μικρότερα σε διάρκεια τραγούδια του δίσκου, όπως άμεσα φανερώνει το “Will I See You Again” με μια stadium rock ικανότητα εθισμού.

Μετά το σύντομο κιθαριστικό instrumental “Infinite Regression”, έρχεται το “The Burning Tides of Time” με ένα αρχικό χαρακτηριστικό θέμα του Brookins που θα φέρει στο μυαλό αρκετών τις σπουδαίες μέρες του Tsamis.

Original Greek Review at Rockway Greece

Multiplayer guitarist Matt Brookins heads the American (from Maryland) progsters, Odin’s Court. With their presence in 2002, they are doing their best in their ninth album, which is basically the second part of the album in 2015, as its title goes on.

Once again, Brookins, beyond basic weight, has recorded guitars, vocals, keyboards, and bass. Rick Pierpont in guitars / second vocals and Gary Raub on drums / second vocals complete the studio team. Jason Pierpont takes on bass, while Dimitrius La Favors, who has vocally upgraded the band since February 2013, and Brookins have established this frequent interviewing tactic in their songs.

The original conception of Odin’sCourt’s boss spoke about a trilogy, the “Turtles Trilogy,” and for the time being she is offering her the second step. Thematically, it deals with questions about man’s perception of the universe and man, and that any new discovery can cause what we usually believe and perceive for the environment.

The spearhead in this attempt to sonically re-create the subject is the vocal melodies that shape this bark of the disc: Odin’s Court does not attack with demonstration bouts and loaded shapes. With emphasis on epic chorus, even with choruses – but not too much – and with the involvement of Michelle Loose Schrotz’s sensitive voice (with But Heaven Wept), his direct aim is his song and message.
Even in the very ambitious twenty-minute song “A Brief History of Time” that opens the album, there is an effortless, welcome flow that has to do with the space given to the melody and the clear horizon of the song, without aggravating complicated demos.

Brookins’ recipe and rather therapeutic muse are almost endlessly ending in the shorter-length songs of the album, as it instantly reveals “Will I See You Again” with a stadium rock addictive skill. Immediately after, “Unmoved Mover” is an airy single with a welcome nostalgia for the chorus, and “Killing Curiosity” could be described as a stroke, melodic hard with excellent voice work. In the same philosophy, “Event Horizons” is driven by the friendly operation of vocal, evocative dialogues of voices, and the familiar yet distinctive but supportive lyrical background.

After the brief guitar instrumental “Infinite Regression” comes “The Burning Tides of Time” with an original Brookins theme that will bring to mind several of the great Tsamis days. Time again as a theme builds the second most demanding and rich song of the album, with an adventurous journey, always under the light of melody.

The stamp of “My Final Journey” is, as it would have been, a gorgeous song with an impressive rhythm and humorous character. The second part of the “Turtles Trilogy” is flooded with lyrics, with simple, beautiful songs that directly aim at its heart listener. Flagging the nostalgia and the light of distant hope, the Court offers a flowing and sensitive melodic elegance.

Even the production unfair to many parameters ultimately gives a poetic, heroic peculiarity. The one who looks for honest immediacy and personal expression beyond trends and conventions will find the way, even though the small imperfections of “Vol. II”.
