On May 26th, 2020 we had announced that the Petri Lindström Project (PLP) a solo project of Petri Lindström (Progeland, Lyijykomppania, PLP, Corvus Stone) was going to release a second album… that was all the information that was given to the public.
Today we announce the details of the upcoming album by the Petri Lindström Project called “Imaginary Soundtrack” an album that has been inspired by the music of Italian Composer Ennio Morricone known for such classics as Fistful of Dollars, Arabian Nights, Exorcist II: The Heretic; Ennio Morricone recorded music for 400 film and television productions.
It is an emotional day as we announce the upcoming release “Imaginary Soundtrack” on the very day of Ennio Morricone’s passing, he was 91 years old.
“I had been working on my second PLP album for sometime in fact last night we finally came up with the song titles, I never would have guessed that when I started making this record it would become a topic in such a sad way. Rest in peace, Ennio Morricone, your music lives on.”
“PLP pays tribute to film music this time, especially Ennio Morricone. This will be my tribute to him. The album has also been influenced by other great film music composers, that style in the ’60-’70s. These are original compositions, but they’re very much paraphrasing Ennio.”
