The Captain is set to make a powerful return with his fifth studio album, Beautiful Ugly, scheduled for release on September 30, 2024. This album comes nearly 27 months after a life-altering road traffic accident, where he and his family were caught in a police car chase and struck by a stolen vehicle.
Amid the stark challenges of rehabilitation, The Captain managed to continue creating music, albeit at a slower, more reflective pace. Composing in a late-night haze of painkillers and fleeting bursts of energy, he gave life to a deeply contemplative and healing album.
The nine-track Beautiful Ugly, released under the bespoke American label Melodic Revolution Records, reflects The Captain’s journey through recovery. Guided by an almost otherworldly pull to create, he poured his energy into the album despite the immense physical and emotional hurdles.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to all the generous supporters who contributed to his crowdfunding campaign, which made the album’s production, recording, design, engineering, mastering, and promotion possible.
